INKnBURN Athletic Gear Review

INKnBURN Athletic Gear Review

I first discovered INKnBURN a year ago when I ran the LA Marathon. Their bold, colorful designs on silky tech shirts stood out among all the vendors at the expo. I eagerly purchased the ‘Lust’ design women’s tech tee. I was so excited about my purchase, I decided to wear the shirt the next morning during the marathon. It was not my first 26.2, and I am well aware that it is a faux pas to wear/try anything new on race day. Rob Tsuyuki, the owner of INKnBURN, told me their biggest following came from ultra runners. These folks are running 100+ miles in this gear, I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about chafing or hot spots. Happy I followed my instincts, I got tons of compliments – plus I was comfortable the entire race!

Since last March, INKnBURN has branched out from super cool tech tees and arm warmers. They now offer shorts for both men and women (soft and durable enough to handle many hours out on the trails), shin sleeves, jackets, sports bras, tank tops, running skirts, and camisoles – all with their amazing bold designs.

I will elaborate here on their running skirt and camisole – their two most recent releases. I wish I had enough of their running skirts to wear one every day! Their versatility is what I appreciate most. I can go from training a client, to meeting a friend for lunch, to an afternoon trail run – all in the same skirt! The design is perfect – fitted shorts underneath in a design that compliments the skirt. The waistband fits snug yet comfortably and can be folded down for those runners who prefer a low rise. There are two pockets in the front for cash, gu, or keys. The length is ‘goldilocks’ – not too short… not too long… just right!

The camisole is the ideal running top for women in warmer weather. It has a shelf bra for added support, and a pocket sewn in for something small (I put my lip gloss there). As with the entire line, this is made of a moisture wicking technical fabric that keeps you comfortable for the duration of your run. The cut of this cami is loose through the waist and fits at the hips. Flattering to all figures!

I can’t finish this review without mentioning the passion and dedication INKnBURN put forth to create the perfect running short for both men and women. I feel like they knew all my gripes about running shorts, eliminated them, and produced these shorts with killer designs to boot! Simply put, since the first time I put them on, I refuse to run in any other short.

There are a lot of choices out there when it comes to running gear, I highly recommend INKnBURN for their unsurpassed quality and commitment to style.

Holly was originally born in Chicago, Illinois but she migrated to the desert in ‘93 to attend Arizona State. She studied nutrition, but she was also very fond of her anatomy classes and decided to attend school for massage therapy. She began practicing massage in ‘95 and discovered yoga could enable her to stay healthy while being an active massage therapist. After practicing yoga diligently for two years, Holly decided to enroll in teacher training. She was thrilled to find that both modalities complimented each other so well, and they were both incredibly rewarding. While practicing massage and aesthetics in a high end spa, and teaching yoga in local studios and gyms, Holly’s thirst for education compelled her to study and test for personal training and group fitness instructor certifications. She began to teach indoor cycling, coach first time marathoners and triathletes as well as train numerous clients of varying athletic backgrounds. Holly is the Run Club Coordinator for Lifetime Fitness and leads the run club for Calvin Klein Performance. In addition to her work related fitness, Holly has completed over 40 road and trail marathons and ultra-marathons, numerous half and shorter distance races as well as triathlons of all distances including Ironman.
