For my first post, and maybe as a bribe, McDowell Mountain Man Jay asked me to review the XX2i Optics France1 sport sunglasses. I was a little weary of changing out of my good old Natives but I decided to give them a fair shot. I have honestly never heard of the company before, but upon doing some research I am loving the vibe I get from them.
First of all, get this (taken off of the XX2i optics website):
“All XX2i sunglasses come with a no questions asked lifetime warranty. No matter what, if your dog chewed them or if you drove over them in your SUV, we’ll replace them for a nominal shipping and handling fee.”
How awesome is that? I love that about the company. Not only do you have a lifetime warranty, but you have 365 days to try them out and return them if you simply don’t like them!
On to the specs. The sunglasses have adjustable temples and nose pads (to ensure a perfect fit every time). The frames are very lightweight and you can change the lenses for any type of light situation. All lenses block 100% of UV rays, are shatter-resistant poly-carbonate and remain fog free.
The France1 Pro Racing sunglasses that I tested out are made for medium to smaller faces. I love that XX2i has this option, some sports sunglasses look just ridiculous on my face, they are huge! I wore them to race and for my daily running and I am really digging them. They are light, fit my face well, and don’t bounce at all. The black sunglasses come outfitted with laser black lenses and two sets of spare lenses; transparent and racing orange and a tank protector case with two soft cleaning cloths/carrying cases. My only gripe is that I wish I knew when the appropriate time would be to change the lenses due to different lighting, or maybe it is just personal preference and there is no hard and fast rule. I will probably just keep the black lenses in just because I like the way they look.
The shades are $89.99 online and with the guaranty, this is a great deal! Quality sunglasses with a lifetime warranty? Yes, please!
